Here, as promised, is a post on the beautiful altars of Notre Dame Cathedral-Basilica, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. First up is the beautiful high altar, with the wonderful statues of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Our Blessed Lady and Saint Joseph:
The entire sanctuary with it's traditional chancel and choir stalls is covered with Gothic ornamentation and statues:

Now on to the beautiful altar of the Sacred heart on the Gospel side of the nave. Another very beautiful Gothic altar:
I believe that my favorite altar for it's design in Notre Dame Ottawa, is Our Lady's altar. Here is a view of it looking from the center of the nave:
Here is a direct-on view of Our Lady's altar, was constructed of wood and covered in gold leaf in 1885:
Here is a closer view of the lower section of the reredos of Our Lady's altar. The ornamentation on this altar is quite detailed:
